Yes, some links pay us a little
Last updated: May 2026
Plain-English legal-ish text written by two home winemakers, not lawyers. If you need this for anything that actually matters, run it past someone with a JD.
Backup Wine participates in affiliate programs with Amazon and a few other home-winemaking retailers. That means if you click a link on this site and end up buying something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.
What this changes for you
Nothing. The price you pay is the same whether you got there from our site or typed it into Amazon yourself. Affiliate links don't add fees, don't change shipping, and don't share your purchase details with us beyond the fact that a sale happened.
What this changes for us
A little coffee money. It is not enough to make us recommend something we wouldn't pour for ourselves on a Tuesday. Russ has been making wine in his basement for forty years; that reputation is worth more than any commission.
How we pick what we recommend
Every product on our shelf is something one of us has personally used, or something we've vetted with people we trust. We don't take payment for placement, we don't accept "review samples" with strings attached, and a higher commission rate never moves a product up the page.
Required FTC bit
As an Amazon Associate and a participant in other affiliate programs, we earn from qualifying purchases. This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials.
