What we collect, what we don't

Plain-English legal-ish text written by two home winemakers, not lawyers. If you need this for anything that actually matters, run it past someone with a JD.
Backup Wine is a small site run by two friends. We are not in the business of collecting your data. This page describes what little we do collect, and why.
Who we are
Backup Wine is a trade name of PerformStreet LLC, 28221 Beck Rd A3, Wixom, MI 48393. PerformStreet LLC is the data controller for any information collected through this site.
What we collect
- Form submissions. If you submit a shopping list, rental inquiry, supplier listing, or community signup form, we receive whatever you typed (typically name, email, ZIP, and a short message).
- Basic analytics. Standard server and browser logs (page visited, approximate location from IP, browser type) so we know which pages people actually read.
- Cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
What we don't collect
We do not sell anything direct, so we never see your payment information. When you click out to Amazon, Northern Brewer, MoreWine, or any other retailer, that purchase happens entirely on their site under their privacy policy — not ours.
How we use it
Form submissions get a reply from one of us (or get added to a waitlist if you asked to be notified). Analytics help us decide what to write next. That's it. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
Third parties
We rely on a handful of vendors to keep the lights on:
- Hosting and database (Lovable Cloud).
- Email/form processing (Replyman, when wired up).
- Outbound retailer links — see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete anything you sent us. Email Todd or Russ via the contact link in any reply we send you, and we'll take care of it. If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA — same email address, same answer.
Changes
If we change this policy in any meaningful way, we'll bump the "last updated" date at the top.
