Bottling Day Bundle

Bottles, corks, a corker — and yes, painters tape.

Russ & Todd approvedEditor's choice

Bottling day is the part nobody warns you about. It takes longer than you think, your kitchen will look like a small disaster, and you will still be glad you did it.

This is what we actually use: empty 750ml wine bottles, natural corks, a hand-lever corker, and — non-negotiable in our garage — a fresh roll of blue painters tape and a black sharpie. Label your bottles. Trust us.

Where to buy

We don't sell this — these links go to retailers who do. We may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Why we like it

The hand corker is enough for a few batches a year. And the tape-and-sharpie system is, frankly, the only labeling method that has ever worked for us long-term.

Who it's for

Anyone who has wine in a carboy and needs to get it out of there.

What's in the box

  • Case of empty 750ml wine bottles
  • Natural wine corks (#9 agglomerated)
  • Hand-lever bench corker
  • Painters tape + permanent marker (the official Backup Wine labeling system)
